South Fayette Community Day in Fairview Park August 24

A Community Day not to be missed!  Free admission; free activities including zip line, a Ninja warrior course, inflatable amusement games and petting zoo; a raffle; a full schedule of free live entertainment on three stages and much more.  100 vendors and community groups will be on hand for guests to visit.  There will be something for everyone!  Visit the ALCOSAN table and learn how you can become 3 Rivers Proud.

Edgewood Community Day Koenig Field August 24

12:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join the fun at Edgewood Community Day featuring live music from local artists, childrens’ activities, spin art, bouncy house, crafts, boy scouts badge achievement demo, raffles and games of chance.  Support your local Volunteer Fire Department by purchasing a meal from their menu of grilled chicken, corn, hot dogs and coleslaw.   Area food trucks will also be on site.  Visit booths from local organizations to get information on area business and service industries.  Visit ALCOSAN’s table to see what not to flush down the toilet and how you can become 3 Rivers Proud.

The evening closes with a performance by the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and fireworks!  There’s something for everyone.

Apples and Honey Fall Festival at the Waterfront in Homestead – September 8

Be sure to come to the Apples and Honey Festival for a family friendly fun-filled afternoon of crafts, activities, bouncy house, sensory-friendly baby activities, entertainment, food, mascot appearances and much more!  Free and open to the public of all ages.  Get your photo with ALCOSAN’s Frankie the Fish who will be joining in on all the fun.

Mc Candless Township Community Day September 14

Fall festivals begin celebrating the changing of seasons.  Don’t miss a chance to get outside and enjoy time with family, friends and neighbors by attending the Community Day event.  Free admission, parking and shuttle service to the festival grounds.  Everyone is welcome to come to Mc Candless Community Day.  Parade starts festivities off at noon. This festival has everything; rides, children activities, games, crafts, relay races, fitness dances, auctions, raffles, face painting and balloon art.  One of the headline entertainments includes vocal artist Chris Jamison.  Also performing: Allegheny Brass Band, ballet dancers from Michele Dance Center, Kardaz, light & heavy jig by local Irish dancers and much more throughout the day.  Let’s not forget the array of different foods from various vendors and food trucks. 

Non-profit organizations will be sharing valuable information that is available in the community.  Visit the ALCOSAN table and learn what not to put in your toilet and how you can become 3 Rivers Proud.

Robinson Township Autumn Festival Burkett Sports & Recreation Complex – September 14

12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Mark your calendar to attend one of the best fall festivals in the area!  The whole day will be filled with music, games, food and a good time with friends. Attractions never before experienced: Eurobungee Trampoline, Rock Wall, Steel City Gamerz, Jones Party Magic trackless train and inflatables including Frozen Disney’s Jump, Fire Station Combo Bouncer, Sports Slide and Steelers Football Bouncer. Also, an expanded display of booths filled with gifts, crafts, knick-knacks, information and great food!  Stop at the ALCOSAN table and learn how you can become 3 Rivers Proud.

If that is not enough, great entertainment is scheduled throughout the day on two stages: main stage first features acoustic duo Paul and Eileen Reenie, opening festival activities with some of your favorite classic soft rock tunes. Country music singer/songwriter Michael Christopher blends traditional/modern country creating a sound of his own. Also, Steeltown band will keep it going with danceable rock through the ages. Stage 2 will feature local youth entertainment including M.S. student Ashley Marina, Just Dance Conservatory and Broadway Dance Studio to name a few.

Cap the evening off with fireworks by Pyrotecnico lighting up the sky!

ALCOSAN Open House – September 21, 2019

9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Plan to attend the award-winning ALCOSAN Open House.  The region’s largest watershed and environmental festival is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.  Enjoy a fun-filled day of hands-on environmental exhibits, and presentations, tours of the wastewater treatment plant and laboratory and educational activities for all ages.

Free parking! Using public transit?  A free shuttle will bring visitors from the Port Authority’s North Side T station near PNC Park and the Allegheny T station at Heinz Field.  Check back for more information.

Breath of Life Stroll – River Avenue – North Shore Trail September 22

10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Support Cribs for Kids by participating in the Breath of Life Walk to raise of awareness of and eliminate infant sleep-related deaths.  Parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends are invited to join the Breath of Life in memory of an infant and celebrate the shared love for life. Create a team for the stroll in loving memory of a child’s life cut too short.

Exhibitors will have games, crafts and activities for children after the stroll.  Local mascots will be available for photo ops.
