Kennywood’s Kidsfest – June 27 – 28

It is always good to be a kid at Kennywood, but it’s taken up several notches for KidsFest  Your little ones can meet their favorite superheroes, royalty, puppies and pals!   On Friday, June 28 at 1 p.m. enjoy a special character meet-and greet event, fun kid-friendly activities, and the Kennywood lineup of fantastic family rides.  Stop and get your photo taken with ALCOSAN’s Frankie the Fish who will be joining in on all the fun.

Kick Off Parade & Opening Ceremonies Crafton Borough Celebrates America Weekend

6:30 pm

The annual Crafton Borough Celebrates America  will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28 with a parade from Bradford Avenue to Crafton Park. Give a shout out to ALCOSAN’s mascot, “Frankie the Fish,” as he passes you along the  parade route.   Opening ceremonies launches Celebrations of America and will feature live music by the band “Trainwreck.”  Family fun-filled activities will continue in the park throughout the weekend including, children activities, games raffles, food, tables by visiting and local vendors, rock climbing, live music and fireworks.  Visit the event website for a schedule of activities.

Open Streets Pittsburgh – Sunday, June 30 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

DOWNTOWN, STRIP DISTRICT, LAWRENCEVILLE neighborhoods will be hosting Open StreetsPGH day, a car-free experience giving people the opportunity to experience the joy of activities that safe streets create.  The streets are temporarily restricted to people and four-legged friends for walking , running, biking and skating.  Activities planned along the route include fitness workshops, kids activities, community arts, sidewalk sales and special promotions presented by local businesses and organizations. Celebrate America Pittsburgh! July 4 Point State Park

12:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Fourth of July is more than just fireworks, it is a celebration of America and a patriotic display of togetherness and pride in the Pittsburgh region. Join Pittsburgers at Point State Park, where there will be entertainment on the main stage, food concessions and family-friendly activities. Both profit and non-profit organizations will be on hand to provide visitors with the in formation updates and merchandise for sale.  Visit the ALCOSAN table and learn how you can become 3 Rivers Proud. The evening celebration ends with a display of fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
