Come out to show your support and cheer the participants in the Girls on the Run 5K race in North Park by the swimming pool area. This 5K run celebrates their passage through a 10-week program where each person develops new skills that encourages positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. Family, friends and local mascots; including ALCOSAN’s Frankie the Fish, will be cheering them all on from start to the finish line.

Welcome the start of holiday season with family, friends, and neighbors at the annual Historical Steel Valley parade in Homestead at 12 noon. This is one of the best holiday parades of the season! Filled with marching bands, girls and boys’ scout troops, a silk dance team, floats, antique cars, funny clowns and civil war reenactors. Musicians and locale mascots; including t-Rex and ALCOSAN’s Frankie the Fish will be joining the parade festivities.
Mayor Betty Esper of Homestead will be your MC announcing all highlights during the parade. Enjoy some hot chocolates as you wait to catch a glimpse of Santa and Mrs. Clause in their sleigh.

Local Pittsburgh mascots will be taking to the ice at the Schenley Park ice rink from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Join the fun and skate along with your favorite mascot. Don’t skate, you can still come out and meet your favorite mascot off the rink for a photo. Lots of dancing and fun for the whole family in the park with the beautiful view of the city of Pittsburgh.
