Participants will learn about various types of living systems. They will explore the interaction of goldfish respiration and temperature, identify the characteristics of microorganisms used in wastewater treatment and examine the global impact of excess carbon dioxide on aquatic life.
Participants will be introduced to various ways to integrate language arts into environmental science. They will discuss how these activities are connected through various hands-on activities.
Participants will be introduced to various ways to use technology in the science classroom. They will use 3D printers to create pieces to determine buoyancy along with Vernier systems.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities investigating the laws of motion. This will include building a racecar powered by kinetic energy, understanding the rule of force in the function of a lever and designing a Rube Goldberg Machine.
